It's Mauricio: Mock Safety Campaign Around the New LRT in Mauritius
'It's Mauricio' is a Mock Safety Campaign for the New LRT in Mauritius. Since its launching, there's been some agitation towards the project due to the House Demolition, the Accidents and Insecurities of people towards Metro Express Ltd.
The project was executed in an Illustrative style with a very bright colour palette to make Metro Express appeal Friendly.
Mauricio was the name given to the very First Train imported from Spain. Furthermore, Mauritius in Spanish is Mauricio. The character was given the main feature present in the LRT so that it can be related back to it.
Additional characters were designed to represent the Elderly and the Youth of Mauritius. They were targeted because they will be the most common users of public transportation. They were also given Icon Mauritian names to use in local Jokes to set a friendly tone.
A pair of signages were made to resolve the issue that some Metro Crossings do not have traffic lights.
Some Guerilla Standees were also made so that people can take pictures with the character and bring a more friendly attitude and acceptance towards Metro Express. This will help reduce a lot of the agitation.
There will be some banners made to catch attention on the streets. The banners will be made both in English and French which are the 2 official languages of Mauritius.
There will also be a video attached to the campaign. Similar to the banners it will be made both in English and French. There's a frame left around the Video so that when applied as a Projection Mapping it will seem like the Character is coming out of the Video.
The video will be executed in the form of a Projection Mapping so that it's more engaging. This will also make it suitable for people to share online thus earning more attention to the campaign.
