As a previous Art and Design student, I tend to focus myself on as much details as i can, take my time to obtain the most appropriate lines to capture what I want my drawing to reflect, from my formation I've learnt patience while drawing because the details would define our grades back then, however this tutorial was quite the opposite.

From this tutorial I've been placed out of my comfort zone, for example this drawing which i made using my left hand, an approach which i was quite familiar with, as my Art and Design teacher from Mauritius had teach us in a similar way.

However sometimes, I've completely lost my ability to form a shape or even reproduce an accurate image.

Other times I wouldn't even have the chance to complete the drawing, because I would try to reproduce the drawing accurately.

Another exercise was to roam around and sketch the people we see around us, and it's been really hard as they were always moving, the only thing i could obtain out of them would be their silhouettes only, even though I would neglect the environment.

The last activity was to draw the different places around us, which was much more easier as they were static.

As a note of conclusion, I would say that I've learned that I have to develop my mind to retain the detail instead of trying to capture the details instantly, for example, using either colors our a quick linear shading to recall that there was a particular texture there, or record only the silhouette, posture of a figure instead of trying to make a detailed drawing of him.

I've also learnt that sometimes I've to actually simplify the lines and curves to quickly obtain the shape and form of a subject.

By this mean I would be able to recall the subject I'm studying and use it as a reference to add further details and reproduce it. This method of sketching will also allow one to identify a lot of details in the environment or the atmosphere, perhaps even the person he's studying.
