On the first day we had a look at various different pop up mechanism, various other interactive mechanisms, and a deep look at different type of papers and their effects in the practical side. We've also cover a few of the printing methods. After that we were told to develop the ideas for the Sitecore welcome card from that.

On the second day our cards ideas were evaluated and we've been given some suggestions to further develop it.

We also had a work where we had to explore places and record at least 10 intangible and 10 tangible observations.

Intangible

For the intangible, I was at KL Sentral and I recorded all the sounds I could hear, from people talking, to electronic appliances' sound.

What I found interesting was that I don't remember seeing, for example the baby's talk, but it's on the record.

Tangible

For the tangible, we had to choose one specific category of object, so I chose the statues since they caught my attention with the symbolism in their image. for example the red pillar on the 10th image which looks like a depiction of flame and it's red as well, just like a flame. Or the other details such as the statue with the big eyes in image 9 and the posture and body shape of the statue in image 8. It's like even in their shape they represent something. The statue in image 8 looks like a dancer or a fighter, with a flexible body with a lot of muscle on his legs and slightly less on his waist, which is really interesting. Then the image of what seems to be a confrontation between a pheonix and a dragon in image 5. Actually the image of the dragon itself captured my attention since it is depicted with a really flexible body that is twisted in a wavy form, which I believe represent the flexibility of the creature, how divine it is. Then there is the image of the old man which as my friends told me was the chinese god of love which was again really interesting to me since in the western cultures the god of love is mostly a woman, and I believe that an old man depicts a more pure image of love since the elderly are the most wise.

As a conclusion I end it up saying that statues was essential to share a message. However I've been suggested to study the symbolism even more since I had more questions than answers in my observation, and therefore it isn't that strong. So I would say that, religion is a really vast subject, since every culture has a different usage of the symbolism, so some observation, especially religion, requires more research to bring some consistence to the final work.
