EAOT
For the EAOT I expanded the subject (music) into different directions that I'm interested in. Fashion was one of them. I thought I could research on questions such as is fashion important in the music industry? How it improves the revenue of an artists and find more ways where it affects the audience.
I was also recommended to look into the POP industry where they have some conceptual fashion which I know in some cases can promote a woman's status and spread some values through the concept behind it.
I was indeed very interested with this suggestion since for my Things project I worked on a more dark fashion which is my cup of tea. So working on more simple fashion and focusing on the pop industry will most certainly be out of my comfort zone and also different from my previous project.
This is yet another really interesting subject for me to explore how an artist or band do their marketing. It can be accidental, it can be purposefully controversial and criminal , while it can also be theatrical, a whole art piece where the whole perform, acting is to be enjoyed along with the appearance and music of the artist. There are various very interesting stories out there some even beyond the eye of the masses.
This is yet another interesting subject, music genres. Well, I actually forgotten that I created this mind map but basically, beside the question you can already see, based on the difference between the genres, conceptually, musically and so on, I wanted to expand it towards the science in music. Exploring some interesting theories I know behind why is a genres more famous than the other, and the degradation of music in term of an art piece in the modern age as compared to the early days where Beethoven, Paganini and so on were known as artists rather than mere entertainers.
However, after consulting my lecturer and learning that most of the content, images and so on from the EAOT project has to be from primary sources mostly, I ended up deciding to move with the Fashion idea. I'd be also focusing myself on the typical 'poppish' fashion rather than some extreme fashion so I could easily dress-up and pose for myself for some original contents. As for the other, yes, I could use some original graphics from Illurstrator and photoshop however, the issue is that I'd be referencing various artist like 90% of the times to talk about the different direction they took in terms of their marketing or genres and I would eventually have to use stock images mostly rather than graphics. Another option though, is illustrating all the characters who are featured within the article, on the other hand though, it might be quite time consuming.
As for the research for all of them they might be very similar. A survey, personal observations, interviews with fans, interviews with someone within the industry if possible and as secondary research, it will eventually have to be online reading since there's no art museum that covers these subjects yet.
As for the interview with artist within the industry I decided to focus myself on such artist who are gaining quite some attention but still rely on words of mouth to share their music. Well this one is a metal band cuz my Insta profile attracts only metal artist 😂😂😂
But.... I will focus myself on pop artist for this project mostly, getting out of my comfort zone slightly.
The Mad Arab
I wrote a more detailed plot while also taking into consideration the arrangements I can do at home here to make it look professional. I also try to give reasons behind the following twists in the story, like where he explores the dark with a candle, it will be because he has to sneak out of the house cuz his parents are superstition and think there's the devil in the night.
I also thought of the different characters who will be present in the story, trying my best not to exceed. I also thought of different ways I can make each character look different.
