These are all possible theme that I might choose for my main brief from the places I’ve explored so far and what caught my attention. There is both a mixture of the possible theme for Design Process and Design Principles. I haven’t chosen any yet since I’ve still some reflection to make to clear things out in my mind.

So, when I went to Brickfields, I’ve been really amazed by all the giant buildings and their intricate architectures. Since I’m from a developing country with quite cheap architectural designs I was easily mesmerized by those of a well developed country. However, this haven’t prevented me from noticing these people who stood out from all others with their underprivileged garments.

Some look like quite simple people, who can’t afford a normal standard person’s life but there were some who looked really deprived. For example; the old woman on her phone and the old man next to her seems to be in a quite better condition than the other in this slide. Then there’s a homeless man sleeping on the ground in one image and a man with no leg in the other. I really wanted to add this contrast between this old man sleeping and the great structure behind him. It was actually how it’s been for me; At the very first moment I was looking at the structure and its designs, and suddenly I came across this old man.

I believe that these people have been victim of some importunities and they surely need help. However, I don’t feel like they’re given the help they need since there are a lot more to see in Brickfields and I bet that the people’s attention will be caught by the wonderful and neat things instead of these people who might feel dirty and disgusting to them who had a better standard of living and therefor, even if the people sees them they will tend to ignore them.

My next interest was the traffic of course, since everywhere I went, there was the traffic or cars with a wheel clamp. The people would park their cars literally everywhere since they are all bothered by the crowded roads. So in the end they will park their cars everywhere careless of what is the consequences to the others nor to themselves. My aim here was to show that how with the affordability of some services we create other issues that are not given so much importance such as frustrations, stress and anger which can surely result in aggressivity at any time. Therefor, even facilities have their side effects.

Another interesting topic would be the case of Mona Fandey, who dissembled and skinned a politician during a ritual which was supposed to make the politician even more rich. She was known as a bomoh, a Malaysian, witch doctor, and her clients were only high standard people. I enjoy this story because represent how mankind in whatever position he stands on the social level, he always wants money and luxury.

This one is just collection of the pictures of dead animals I’ve collected. The pigeon was apparently victim of bird fever and was agonizing there in the middle of a giant mass of people laughing and talking while the raven was simple crushed by a car. So, I thought why not using these scenes to represent how inattentive the people are to what’s going on around them.

This one is just an idea. I haven’t had the chance to explore my research zone for this one though. It’s basically about how a traumatic experience can affect a person and his surroundings. The creature that I drew actually represent my vision of those who had a traumatic experience. It’s mouth is shut because most of these people wouldn’t like talking about their traumatic experience, however he has some holes in his mouth to represent that he can scream to express his pain. He has no eyelids to add a focus on how he has been exposed to all those bad experiences. I have already started building up a plot for this story however I can’t find a proper research zone.
