We learnt more about research strategies during this class, exploring primary research, secondary which I already know from the t&t class and tertiary research which I've just learnt.

Tertiary research involves someone's review or summary on a secondary research he studied. Could be like questioning the new research based on other secondary research from the present. I actually was very familiar with this form of research but I didn't know how it was called since I use to watch a lot of those articles reviews from.......well......Youtube xD.....of course........

Videos from Youtubers such as Anton Petrov who use to do those reviews based on articles about space explorations.

here's a link

Or videos from BrightInsights who reviews many archaeological, historical, political, scientific articles among a few others more.

here's a link

There's a few other more...but anyway... I really like these 2 since they really shows us the articles they're reviewing and give us the references.

We were furthermore given a template from Research Lab to conduct our research.

  1. The title is our topic

  2. Research question is like a list of the things we are seeking

  3. Background Info is like a brief

  4. Hypothesis are arguements that we already have about the subject

  5. Variables are the data

  6. Control variable are sort of filtering the data considering the location and demographic

  7. Material is what we required for the project

  8. Method is like the type of research we will conduct (survey/questionairs/focus group)

From there we are done with the starting process

  1. Then we will obtain the raw data (from both primary & secondary)

  2. From there we have to process it and analyze it

  3. By analyzing we must identify the challenges

  4. and we finally come up with a visual representation of everything

We furthermore learnt about various other research methods like trendspotting, coolhunting (which is similar bus more based on youth), focus group which involve testing the product and earn direct feedback from our audience, crowdsourcing which is similar and analytic research whereby we analyze an existing product and find room for improvement.

Then we were given a group activity here it is;

Since it was about building up a new social media interface we thought of the so called influencers from the social medias and we knew we had to include a sort of earning system.

A survey would be required because it help to get a quantitative data which will help us to spot the required points or maybe even the trends

A Focus group is required since we need the app to be operating well

We also focus a lot on the interface as you can see, Ted Talks are to learn about the various human behaviors which we might take into consideration among a few similar others

We also had an interview to learn people's interest to know what they wanna share there which other apps don't allow them to do.

The other group also presented there's we all had the same brief.
