3Ds Max Lecture

We had a 3Ds Max Lecture where we learnt how to work in 3D.

We learnt about the navigations and how to rotate, enlarge an object and group them.

Behold unto mine Gothic tea Party xD

Anyway....

The chair with the pink back rest was my lazy attempt at making a chair since we were challenge to make out own chair before we were shown how to do it.

The tea cups were made from a different file, and yes, we learnt how to merge different projects.

For the cup, we used the curve tool and the 'lathe' modifier followed by solidify. We learnt how to adjust the axis when using the lathe since the first click don't give you exactly what you are looking for. We used the modifiers a lot on this small piece. We used the bending for the handle and the 'Text Plus' as it's called in the software.

As for the tea it's just an illusion where we made a circle and bevelled it and then solidifying it, the hard way just for us to learn the features of the software. The easiest way would be adding a cylinder.

It was a fun experience but I still feel we haven't learnt enough. I've been using blender on some projects and I know that there's so much more to learn about a 3D software.

For now I prefer blender just because I'm used to it, and I can make some pretty good render (that takes time) on it.

However 3Ds Max seems to be more easier to use compared to blender. For the renders above I didn't have to adjust the lighting and the camera which on blender can be quite of a pain in the ass.
