From the previous comments we had each one of us worked on some ideas and here are a compilation of our ideas;

None of the ideas consist of a second food storage purpose and this is because we found that plastic bottles made out of PET which is widely distributed helps in the growth of bacteria so it's not hygienic to be used for a long period of time and if cleaned it releases some chemicals.

1. Creating a service where the people will be able to contact, and by the use of their unused plastic bottles redecorate their interior, it would have been done through either a website or an app, or even both.

This idea was from the other group members of my semester.

Here are some visual references

Some more visual references are available here https://blog.manomano.co.uk/16-easy-plastic-bottle-crafts/

This idea was inspired from Mr. Kate who use to design any sort of interior with whatever budget they're given but this time, it will of course be only with plastic bottles

2. To create cheap jewelries from old plastic bottles and sell it to raise funds for the cause of protecting the environment.

3. We also thought of a DIY challenge, where the people will this time offered with the item needed to modify their plastic bottles and give it another purpose not related to food storage of course. Most of us came with this idea even I but I tried to explore more and leave this idea behind since it's not an innovative idea.

4. This is an idea of mine and it's actually really crazy and we will surely not choose this one, I was just trying to go further from the conventional.

It's basically making a 3D jigsaw puzzle using the water bottles which will have slots at different areas to create an abstract artistic decorative item.

The issue with this idea is that it requires to design different bottles with different shapes and designs which will most certainly not be ergonomic.

5. We got another idea from a member of the first sem, to redesign the bottle itself to make it serve as a decorative item afterwards.

Some visual reference

Some linkss related to this branch on the mindmap;

We basically did some research on how the plastic bottles were done

6. This one is another idea of mine where I chose to make a campaign

Basically a metallic struture with several slots for water bottles along with posters will be displayed in rural areas and the residents will be invited to leave their water bottles there and see whatever creature it is form, it will be a statue made out of plastic bottles, by this mean also helping in collecting the plastic bottles for recycling rather than them being thrown everywhere and the posters will explain the concept and the cause behind it.

To be honest I personally preferred the idea of the interior design however after voting we chose to work on redesigning the water bottles themselves.

So we chose this exact idea and we started developing it.

I will explaining the information through this mindmap later on.

So, since we were to redesign the water bottles I thought of adding a concept to the design instead of leaving it as a beautiful design but no meaning behind it.

My first idea was basically to take some theme, some interior theme and make designs of the bottles that will adapt to these environments.

For example, in an environment with a lot of wood furniture like this I've designed 2 bottles that will relate to wood.

The first one is in the form of terraces, which resembles a lot like those designs done with wood a lot recently which keeps on overlapping each other.

And the other one was inspired from the wood pillars

Source of inspiration

These are some other designs I've tried, the encircled design has a diamond base. And these 3 designs relate to the modern designs which has more structure to it and are more neat.

The environmental theme

These are some other designs from a member of the group from the first sem.

This is some ideas from a 3rd sem, where the bottles can be cut and reassemble without the use of glue into a decorative sort of... flower.

These ideas are more practical, where one will act as a spoon or pencil holder and the other as a candle holder

This is from another member of the 3rd sem where she based herself on animals. However, afterwards she gave it even more meaning by taking only some endangered marine creatures prone to extinction because of plastic pollution such as the turtle here who eats jelly fish and mistakes plastic bags as jelly fish and put their lives at stake while trying to eat.

This is another idea by a first sem, who adopted this same concept and tried to design a bottle made of fish scales.

At the end of course we choose this concept of the marine animals to proceed further with our final product.
