I've of course research on what localization is at it's base and I've found that they were mostly talking about the business aspect of it when there was still so much more to talk about it
So I tried expanding it by myself to see what I can find.
I did a concept map to better find the relations with localization other than business related points
From there I found that there's a high relation with culture and that it could somewhat also be related to a form of culture preservation.
I started looking a bit in the psychology of respect, conformity among others
all the links to the articles I've read are at the very bottom
I've got the following points from my research;
Localization follows the informative social influence case, whereby the company agrees that the foreign people knows their preferences better and uses the foreign imagery and language
This method creates a form of respect by this mean creating a sense of comfort, something that the foreigners can relate themselves to it, it also create an identity to which the people can relate themselves to and therefore they are more willing to accept this particular company or service as one of theirs even though it’s new.
Globalization tends to create a sense of alienation where the audience will be exposed to something totally different from what they are used to, and depending on the location and the level of ambiguity they might not welcome it this well.
Alienation tends to create a level of stress in a person whereby he doesn’t feel comfortable and reduces any form of trust and acceptance.
A new thing, again depending on the standard of the people, has the tendency to create some hostility because it’s different and some people don’t to accept it.
Localization makes it easier to accept by showing the brain visuals and words that it recognizes and creating a friendly environment.
I gave this following example which is honestly just 'Bulls**t' but I believe it illustrate this idea quite accurately even though there's no prove to what I said;
If let’s say a new burger shop opens up in the East Asia where they already have several burger shops they will accept it even though the recipe for example consist of let’s say pork, but let’s say this same shop try to open up somewhere more remote where the people had never eaten a burger before, like for example the majestious but extremely undeveloped island of Socrota from the middle east, the people will be more unwilling to the appearance of the burger, because of the unfamiliarity to the dish and even more to the fact that it is made of pork since the island consist mainly of muslims who use to reject dishes made of pork.
I've also watched some case study:
Where they illustrate both the positives and negatives and also talks a bit about the strategy.
I've also watch a few examples of some possibilities for the leaflet;
I had 2 tutorials already and yeah.....
been busy lately.......
Anyway;
Basically I was told to study more about the benefits and the reasons to go towards Localization and to keep away from considering it as the best way, and keep a neutral tone about it.
I haven't yet made any proper decision but I'll have to start to make some layouts and stuffs to better understand my direction, I was also told that I can use Starbucks as a reference since it was among the most prominent case study.
For the Portfolio, I think I have my manifestos I just had to better explain my theme since it was.... really abstract....
So I've simplified them into the following:
My theme comes from a spiritual believes that states that the world is what you want it to be, and to me, since my believes keep on changing, it means that the world I see will change as well and that I have to adapt to each phase of my life. This quote also depicts the fact that I love when my work keeps on evolving and just like my ever changing believes, it’s never the same boring work. Moreover, it illustrates how I like spirituality, that occupies a major part of my life and also how I like anything that is conceptual.
I think I'll use this paragraph literally for the first page since I can't find any other best way to describe it.
For the visuals;
I did this board on Pinterest and I was thinking of going in this direction since it's like the serious representation of spirituality and occult knowledge, the part that I'm interested in.
So the illustration style is there and the color scheme will be the yellowish brown color and the illustration as well is all over the board, for the lettering I found the second image more intriguing to use and furthermore I was told to add some colors to make it more interesting and not just brown and black, so I was recommended to use the colors from the first image mostly since it still holds the identity and mood but it's more colorful.
😛😛😛😛 Here's all the boring Stuffs 😛😛😛😛
I was told to look into this article as well
