We had a little lecture to clear of thoughts on syllable, we were given some themes such as; "first kiss, crush, birthday, Monday, Friday", among others I can’t recall. We were also given a guide of 5 syllable followed by 7 and another 5 (5, 7, 5) and finally we were asked to write a sort of rhyme or poem relating to our chosen theme using the 5, 7, 5 guide.
We were put into group of 3 where each student has to write one of the syllable. For example one member will write the first 5, following with the other, talking on the same topic will write the next 7 syllable and ending with the last member writing the last 5 syllable.
My group has chosen Monday and we wrote the highlighted one together.
Then I had to change group since another student joined in late and he didn’t has a group yet, So I wrote the following with him.
Afterwards, the groups were broken down and we had to read either a magazine or a newspaper to find random words that we’ll use to write another poem of our own and I finally wrote this one.
This was based on the fact that sometimes as students we have to compete and work hard and eventually end up losing some friends on the way.
Actually, while writing it, it was getting late so I end up making my own words to finish up quickly but then I realized that I can actually make this messy outcome into a concept. Since the concept is about losing friends and that the lettering for ‘friendship’ is written separately, I thought that I could use that to represent the separation.
