The class began with a brief on the primary colors, we were then given a task to mix the primary colors to eventually create a color wheel.

My color wheel turned a bit messy, I didn't take the spaces into consideration, instead I was focus on saving space on the page.

I added a few notes here and there about the other briefing.

Following up with the different methods of creating emphasis on a subject using colors.

Analogous

This one takes colors next to each other to create, most of the time, a monochromatic harmonious environment.

Complementary/Split Complementary

This one is a combination of a color and the one opposite to it, this is to create high contrasting effect, mostly to create emphasis.

To make it more interesting there is the split complementary, which uses the two colors besides the opposite color, this is to reduce tension if the theme required a less tense environment.

In split complementary one color has to be dominant and the other two has to be used as accent.

Triad

Triad it any three colors taken from the wheel which form an equilateral triangle on it.

This scheme usually makes the composition vibrant.

Same thing goes for triad where one has to dominant and the others accent.

Tetradic & Square

This scheme include any four colors forming either a rectangle or a square on the wheel. They have to be complimentary to each other however.

Almost the same thing applies here, where one has to be dominant and the others accents.

This color scheme furthermore offers more possibilities and variations in one's composition.

Then we had an activity where we had to put everything we learnt in practice.

I've labelled each of the drawing. Actually since we had to use different scheme of colors, I've decided to experiment a bit with feel, like for example the green one, which I honestly would never paint a drawing like this one in this color due to it's weird nature like feel. However it was interesting how you can use the color scheme to come up with such a unique appeal and feel. Like it's the same drawing yet telling a totally different story just because of the change in the color.
