So, as said previously by my lecturer, the ideas that I had didn't represent my research quite well. So I thought of another approach to the theme.
I took example on the 'Trojan' method of advertising, and I tried to figure out how it works on the human mind. From my point of view it all began with a desire, and the 'Trojan' acts on a person's desire, distracting him from his main goal and creating the want for the product or service in question. Finally, there's the result which is the truth... or consequence of falling prey to the advertisement.
Here is sort of pathways that can be generated from these thoughts in mind. Of course they're just quick written examples, still undeveloped but it's my starting point.
Here's a map on how the 3D space will look like from the top. The circle with the cross is the 'player' even though I'm not considering it as a game but more of an experience, I felt that everyone could better relate with the word player in a virtual environment.
From where he'll start there will be many doors, and on the bottom floor he will ask about his desire.
Then as he follows his chosen path he'll fall on an ads. All paths leads to an ads, as I said it's not a game where you can win, but an experience. Obviously it ends in the consequence of falling prey to the ads.
As you might have notice I've also added a pathway for Youtube, it was recommended to me by the lecturer, since most of the advertising is done through Youtube, through sponsored videos and these freaging annoying ads before every videos.
I hope you can visualize it a bit more from this quick sketch, my excuses if you don't....
The other idea is about the anaglyph sort of....proposal from the presentation last sem. So in this one, a player is free to roam around and their will be artifacts to be viewed, with colors and shapes overlapping each other. Then the colored glasses can be worn over the google VR box to look at each individual shapes to see what it actually represents, and as you can see, these drawings are what it represents.
The second method is to have a few keys or a key to press to change the hue of the camera, then no need for glasses, the issue is that I haven't found anyway to do this yet.
Else I can combined this idea with the previous idea above, like, the viewer will ask to make a choice which will lead him to a specific artifact, each artifact relating to the choice they make. Then they either use the glasses or the key to see the message.
I had one last idea which i'm quite skeptical about it since it requires a lot of coding which i'm not good at. Basically, the player won't move he will just either stare at a point to move to a specific room or click on a point to move to the specific room of his choice.
I was thinking of doing the VR experience as a VR android app, since it will be easier to make and less costly, I've found that maybe a joystick might be helpful, but I'd like to try to spend as less as i can to make the experience. I still have to do some research on how to develop it. It is possible but a bit tricky.
