I started focusing myself a lot on optimism and pessimism, I've started to think on how to make this primary idea a more detailed and get a stronger concept. I've read articles on pessimism and optimism and watching YouTube videos about that as well. One video that has really attracted my attention was this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jADnNpx3R4.

Since it relates to my interests; media, society and psychology, it helped me to add depth to this first idea of a boy who can't taste sweet.

I've started designing the 'bones' of my animation through some writings. Basing myself on a few music that I enjoy and one author in particular H. P Lovecraft, from the way they place their words in their works to give it a more poetic feel and bring some emotions and feelings to the sentences, I've written my own sort of poem about what I want to show in the animation. Some of the music that could relate to this are, Le Detenteur by Beyond Creation, which talks about the flaws of humanity and Happiness by IAMX which in some way ask a question about how to be happy.

Look at them with their smile and their ice cream in their hands,

This is just fuel and they make it such a great thing,

Another day, Same person, another ice cream, a more costly one, same thing with sprinkles on it, a different price,

can't they see,

such a waste,

oh, I see, and no, I shall not worship a pile of sugar,

For I can see, He is the devil,

and they are touched by evil,

Alone shall I remain, Far from corruption.

The whole extract uses the images of sweetness as being the media. The first 2 lines expresses that media changes the true purpose of other products. The next 4 lines expresses how people do not uses these products as they should be used, they allow the media to manipulate them in brief, and the following 2 lines suggest that the media is evil, with bad intention and that the population has turned bad from the influence of media. The bad here is more towards the fact that they accept whatever the media publish, even if it's fake. Finally, the last sentence says that the protagonist don't want to form part of a world like this one because he feels it's wrong.

From these words I've sketched a few sceneries to direct the peoples mind more towards this perspective.

The first image is just an eye and it's just the intro, with motion that i will add in the animation of course.

Then there's the image of the woman buying an ice cream, and I tried to make her look quite distinguishable to be able to use her again in the coming scenes to express that it's always the same person buying different type of ice cream, and I did an exaggerated smile on their face to show their happiness and to add the dark perspective of the protagonist on their happiness, I've also added a queue to represent like how everyone want the same thing.

I also wanted to show the ice cream well to afterwards show another ice cream with the same shape and color but with sprinkles on it just as what is said in the extract.

Then there's the scene where it suggest that ice cream is just fuel where it show that the ice cream is going through the body and it is activating a gearing mechanism in the stomach after which a bulb is lit at the heart. In this manner expressing that their heart beat from the food.

This is the scene talking about money with a wide devilish smile again.

The eyes with the evil faces relates to the part where the protagonist claims that he sees.

Then there's the pile of sugar which looks evil as well and is huge to represent the godly status and the people worshiping him on the floor which the protagonist standing without bowing down to him.

As he claims that the god is the devil I thought of make some horns appearing on the entity.

And the two last scene shows that the man is walking away from the entity and his worshipers.
