Actually I thought that it would be interesting to show my progress so I kept all the files that I've exported to show the lecturer during my tutorial.
This is the first time I've exported it, as you can see there's a defect in their movement at some point.
Moreover, I've change the smile of the protagonist and I've added eyelids for him so that he looks more serious and more like a pessimist.
I've actually used the bone deformation tool from toonboom, and it's what gives it this really smooth movement. I wanted a really organic movement in my animation that's why I chose to work with the bone deformer. However, the hand lifting up the ice cream was made using the casual pose to pose method. It was easier to do it this way.
Here is another example where I've used pose to pose, I simple drew it the way it should look then, using the transform tools to make it smaller to show this progression.
This is the second time I've exported it and this one actually has some background, which I made using Krita, a free drawing software, it has some interesting brushes to offer which give some unique pattern and textures.
The last scene in this one was a scene that I was practicing but I ended up changing it to something else. This scene was for the "this is only fuel" part.
This is the pre-pre-final, if it makes sense, at this point I had everything, the complete 30 seconds, but not the audio yet and afterwards I actually had to adjust the timeline so that it matches the voiceover, and as you can see the ice cream monster (God) is different in this one because I was asked to changed it afterwards and make it look more like an ice cream.
I guess you will also notice the camera movement at where the ice cream spilled on the camera and how the spills glows on the screen. This is the new scene for the "this is only fuel" part.
I've also design a few other scenes for some parts that I have barely planned from the beginning;
This scene for "they make it such a great thing"
This scene for "another day".
I've also applied the squash and stretch here to create a scene of motion in the sun and of course for the unique contrast it provides.
This scene for "same person" This scene for "a more costly and this scene for "can't they
one" see?" they also don't have eyes to further suggest this.
